Thanks to Quintin Kynaston

A very big thank you to the parents at Quintin Kynaston Academy for the £500 pounds they raised for Tanyel’s Smile.

Quintin Kynaston is a secondary school in St John’s Wood.  Tanyel’s dad, Ceyhun, works with the Academy providing support, insight and advice in his capacity as a Metropolitan Police Officer.

Thank you to everyone who helped.  We are extremely grateful for your support.

Tri Done – Cey Exhausted

Andrew and Cey

After many hours of gruelling training and 4 hours of hell on London’s roads, I’ve now completed my first Olympic-length triathlon.  My finishing time was an honourable 4:21 and I now look forward to reducing that next time around.

As I suspected, the swim leg was the most challenging and I was relieved to finish.  I got considerably wetter than I expected despite the fine weather.  I guess that’s the downside of swimming.  Luckily the cycling gave me plenty of time to dry.

Thank you to Andrew Sharpe (pictured) for joining me today, to everyone who came along to support me and to those who generously made donations to the charity.  I couldn’t do it without you and it’s great to be able to help children through their difficult times.

Thanks, Cey

London Triathlon

After successfully completing a number of marathons I thought it was time to face a new challenge, and on Sunday 23rd July I’ll be entering my first Triathlon.

Not believing in half-measures, I’ve entered the full Olympic event: 1km swim, 40km cycle, 10km run. Unsurprisingly my running training has been going reasonably well, as has the cycling; I am however not looking forward to the swimming – unfortunately I swim like a fish – one that’s been battered and served with chips.

Due to unforeseen delays,  the JustGiving site for Tanyel’s Smile is not ready just yet but please watch this space, if you’d like to make a small donation we should be with you soon.

Thank you, Cey
